We have all watched children play and seen their instinctive creativity and natural curiosity and many of us, as children or as adults, have experienced the extinguishing of that creativity in the classroom.

Striving for a balance between control and creativity - between allowing the children the freedom to explore and the importance of setting a direction for their learning - is a challenge for us all. This session will look at what creativity involves in the primary classroom and how we can encourage it and direct it. The session will include practical examples of activities which can be used to develop creativity in all four skills.

THE NEW GIMNAZJUM EXAMINATION – Peter Moran
The new examination for gymnazjum is still something of a mystery, but we know something of the task-types and topics which will be included. This session will provide an overview of the examination and will look at some practical activities which can be used to prepare students for it.

We will also consider how elements related to culture can be introduced effectively into the classroom at gymnazjum level. A summary of the activities presented will be available to participants via email after the session.
